For #GlaucomaAwarenessMonth this January, we're sharing the story of Christolyte, a bright and curious 10-month-old who was diagnosed with pediatric glaucoma, a condition that can cause lifelong blindness if left untreated. 

Her family was already facing enormous challenges, and the thought of their baby losing her sight was heartbreaking. But thanks to compassionate supporters like you, Christolyte can access the care she needs to control her complex condition.  

Through an Orbis-supported project at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Ghana, Christolyte received sight‑saving glaucoma surgery—at no cost to her family. Thanks to local teams receiving the training they needed to not only complete the surgery but provide follow-up care for the rest of her life, Christolyte can look forward to a future of health sight.  

Her mom told us, “Now she can see again. That means everything to me. Thank you for giving her this chance.”
