John,
ICE’s operations are intensifying in cities across the country in response to what’s happening in Minnesota right now: families are being torn apart and communities are living under fear. American citizens are being detained and asked for their papers, and a radically violent police force is terrorizing our streets with no oversight. Trump is trying to make ICE’s terror normal; we must refuse.
In one year, Trump has done irreversible damage to our country, and increased his personal wealth by $1.5 billion. He’s personally profited billions in blood money using the office of the presidency— operating crypto schemes, accepting foreign bribes, and using the threat of tariffs to line his own pockets. While robbing poor Americans of healthcare and food assistance, he’s been gifted: a golf course in Vietnam, an office building in India, a 1-kilo gold bar, and a personal jet from Qatar to replace Air Force One.
All the while, Trump’s policies, shaped by his billionaire allies, have taken trillions in resources from working people, give tax cuts to line the pockets of the greedy few, and expanded ICE enforcement to keep people living in fear. Wealth for him, and violence for everyone else.
We must act. Send a letter to your representative demanding an end to ICE terror. ICE is now the highest-funded law enforcement agency in the country.
From California to Minnesota, tomorrow January 23rd, labor leaders, faith leaders, educators and organizers are calling for a day of solidarity — no work, no school, no shopping, and mass direct action. Here’s how you can take a stand and resist ICE violence right now:
Show up, stand together. Find an action near you on Friday, January 23rd:
SAN FRANCISCO: Join Bay Resistance in Downtown San Francisco @ 4 pm in front of the Target on 4th and Mission to rally awareness and pressure Target to stand with our community
LOS ANGELES: Join SEIU 721 at La Placita Olvera @ 12 pm and stand with Angelenos against ICE and Border Patrol’s brutal assault on Minnesota, California, Los Angeles, and communities across the nation
MORE CITIES: Find an “ICE Out For Good” solidarity action in your city or visit this page to create your own event with Indivisible to demand ICE leave Minnesota and the office responsible for the murder of Nicole Good is held accountable
Tell Congress to End ICE Terror: Call on Congress to block funding for ICE and reject Trump’s violent enforcement agenda. No more blank checks for terror.
From anywhere in California, join the Buy CA for CA boycott: Send a message, communities come before Trump’s cruelty and corporate cowardice. Don’t shop with Target, Amazon or Home Depot and spend where we get respect
In solidarity,
We Are California
