I’m reaching out today for my friend and colleague, Congresswoman Julie Johnson. Here’s why:

Our nation is in crisis. ICE is rounding up Americans on the streets, unlawfully detaining them, and even exerting deadly force against unarmed protesters.

But Julie’s not afraid of a fight when our rights are on the line. She’s Vice-Ranking Member on the House Homeland Security Committee, and she’s taking Kristi Noem and ICE to task — for denying due process, terrorizing our communities, and abusing their power. She’s even signed articles of impeachment to hold Kristi Noem accountable.

Julie is facing a well-funded primary opponent who chose to stand with Republicans when Texas communities needed a Democrat with a backbone. He voted against due process for immigrants (twice) and gave Trump unchecked power to go after nonprofits that serve our communities.

Right now, we need to put all of our support behind Democrats who confront Trump’s extremism — not Democrats who help him get away with it.
