I'm bringing back an excellent piece of model legislation! ([link removed])

Last session, I introduced my "Defend the Guard" legislation, so that the AZ National Guard could not be sent to a foreign war that was undeclared.

It was not signed into law.

I'm bringing it back again- this time to WIN.

I served in the Air Force for 20 years, which is why I introduced Senate Bill 1047.

The legislation says Arizona’s National Guard can’t “be released from the state into active duty combat unless the United States Congress has passed an official Declaration of War or has taken official action pursuant to Article 1, Section 8, Clause 15” of the Constitution.

The article allows Congress to federalize the National Guard to repel invasions, put down an insurrection and enforce America’s laws.

SB 1047, also known as the Defend the Guard bill, would require the Arizona governor to “take all actions necessary to comply” with the order.

Nationwide, the Defend the Guard bill has been pushed by an organization called Bring Our Troops Home, founded by Sgt. Dan McKnight, a 13-year veteran of the U.S. armed forces who served 18 months in Afghanistan from 2005 to 2007.

In the past, Trump administration officials, including Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., have endorsed the bill.

Now, let's talk about WHY this is important.

Nationwide, overdoses from drugs went down 20% since Trump took office because of his work securing the border.

This is GREAT news! Thousands of lives saved.

Unfortunately, under "Cartel Katie" Hobbs, Arizona saw an INCREASE of 17% overdoses during that time.

The AZ border is STILL porous. The AZ Guard is needed HERE to secure the border and repeal the Cartels and their poisonous drugs!

Hobbs has been REFUSING stubbornly to keep us safe.
The lesson here? NEVER trust a Democrat to secure the border.

I am bringing back every good bill Katie Hobbs vetoed. She can sign them or explain to AZ voters why she is making our border with Mexico a turnstile for the Cartels and their gangs.

I need your help to pass this bill and protect Arizonans from dangerous drugs. We need to raise the alert publicly so "Cartel Katie" Hobbs doesn't get away with this again! Republicans are ready to govern Arizona and restore our state to safety and prosperity. Help me do just that with common sense legislation! ([link removed])
