As of this moment, the COVID-19 bill that Mitch McConnell is poised to introduce will include the TRUST Act, a proposal championed by Mitt Romney to set up a fast-track commission to cut Social Security and Medicare.

Over the weekend, we got some more details on how that commission would be implemented, and it’s worse than we feared!

Call your Senators TODAY at (202) 224-3121 and tell them to keep the TRUST Act out of the pandemic response bills!

Here’s what we learned: The commission that the TRUST Act creates would report back in November―right after the election―to be considered by a group of Senators and the President who may have just lost. And that proposal would be approved with a simple majority―no filibusters possible.

Even if Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell lose in November, the TRUST Act would give them one last chance to stick it to the country that they’ve already plunged into a pandemic and depression. We need to stop the TRUST Act before it’s too late! Call BOTH of your Senators today at (202) 224-3121.

At a time when 57,000 seniors have died in nursing homes, and the pandemic continues to rage out of control, it’s outrageous that Republicans are trying to cut our earned benefits. We’re sending billboard trucks into the states of key Senators, so their constituents know what’s at stake here.
