Friend,

This week ICE detained a 5-year-old boy in Minnesota named Liam Conejo Ramos.

Liam and his father have a pending asylum case – and have no order of deportation to be removed. They are following the law. 

Yet when Liam returned home from preschool, he and his father were detained by ICE in the driveway. Then they instructed Liam to knock on his door to see if they could arrest anyone else in his home – essentially using the child as bait.

I’m infuriated.

Under Donald Trump and Kristi Noem, ICE has become a rogue, lawless agency weaponized against immigrants and the American people. It’s beyond repair – and must be dismantled. 

I refuse to fund ICE’s illegal assault on our communities. That’s why I will OPPOSE the DHS budget, which throws even more money at this lawless agency. We can defeat this bill and rein ICE in – but we can’t do it without your help.
