This message is a little long because it’s personal to me. It would mean a lot if you read it all the way through. But if you’re short on time, here’s the heart of it: I’m taking on my MAGA opponent, Paul LePage, to fight for the hardworking families that Donald Trump and Mike Johnson are leaving behind while they cater to their billionaire donors. My race in Maine could decide who controls the House. If you’re able, will you chip in $15 to help me defeat Trump & Johnson’s hand-picked MAGA candidate, win this seat to take back the House for Democrats, and fight to lower costs for working families? >>
Herbert, I want to talk about something that hits really close to home.
Right now, too many families are doing the math at the kitchen table and coming up short.
Groceries or prescriptions.
Heating oil or child care.
Rent on time or one surprise medical bill.
I know what that feels like.
My dad was a pastor, and my mom was a teacher. We struggled to afford health care and child care, just like so many families today.
But my parents also taught me that when times are hard, you don’t turn your back on people. You show up for your community however you can.
We worked in soup kitchens. We built houses for our neighbors. We joined sit-ins to stand up for Maine farmers.
Now I’m a parent with my wonderful husband, Jake, raising our daughter, Ella.
Like every new parent, we’re paying for diapers, formula, and child care. We’re seeing firsthand how fast the costs add up, and too many families are being forced to choose between necessities.
This is an affordability crisis. And instead of taking responsibility and working to fix it, Donald Trump is closing his eyes to reality and calling it a “hoax.”
Herbert, this race could decide control of Congress, and if I win and help Democrats take back the House, I will make affordability my first priority. Will you chip in $15 right now to help me take on Trump, win this critical seat, and flip the House blue? >>
Here’s what makes me furious:
While families are choosing between groceries and prescriptions, Trump and Mike Johnson are handing tax breaks to their billionaire donors.
While parents are wondering how they’ll afford one more month of child care, House Republicans are hiking up the prices of healthcare subsidies and slashing the very programs that help families stay afloat.
And my MAGA opponent, Paul LePage, is right there with them — vetoing Medicaid expansion as governor, siding with special interests over Maine voters, and making it clear he’ll be a guaranteed yes vote for Trump’s agenda in Congress.
That’s why I’m running.
I’m running for the families who feel one emergency away from falling behind.
I’m running for every kind of family in Maine who deserve leaders that actually understand what it means to work for their paycheck.
And I’m running because this race in Maine could decide who controls the House.
Herbert, I’m setting an urgent goal of 300 grassroots donations before midnight to stay competitive with LePage’s MAGA war chest. If we win, we help fire Mike Johnson and put a real check on Trump’s agenda. If we lose, Trump, Johnson, and Paul LePage get one more vote supporting their extremist agenda. I’m humbly asking: will you please rush $15 right now to help me defeat Paul LePage, flip this must-win House seat, and fight for families and neighbors who need our help? >>
Thank you for standing with me,
Jordan
