President's Message Once again, Americans have ranked nurses as the most honest and ethical profession in Gallup's annual Most Honest and Ethical Professions Poll. This enduring trust speaks not only to our character, leadership, and expertise, but to the essential role we play in health and shaping future policy and educational priorities. Our 2024 NASN survey illuminates the broad public support for school nurses and recognizes our unique contributions at the intersection of health care and education. When families and policymakers understand what school nurses do, it strengthens advocacy efforts and expands access to the care students need to thrive. Still, too many students lack access to school nursing services—a gap that affects attendance, safety, and readiness to learn. As we continue our work in 2026, let us carry forward the public's confidence as a foundation for meaningful advocacy on the policy issues that matter most to us, children, and families nationwide.
