The day Renee Good was murdered, I said that not only was the ICE agent’s hand on the gun, Kristi Noem’s hand was on the gun too. I stand by that.
Kristi Noem can try all she wants to gaslight the American people and silence the criticism, but she can’t erase reality.
An ICE agent shot a mother at point-blank range. That’s horrific. And the responsibility for it doesn’t stop with the person who pulled the trigger.
We all know this administration’s policies and rhetoric caused Renee Good’s death.
And what’s more, their lies about what happened are creating the conditions for more deaths in the future.
So I’ll say it again: President Trump’s hands were on that gun. Secretary Noem’s hands were on that gun.
They don’t see it that way. They say our simple demands for truth and accountability are tantamount to violence. It’s telling that when we say “tell the truth,” they hear a threat.
This is an easy call: People who believe accountability is a threat shouldn’t be in charge of law enforcement.
Secretary Kristi Noem should be impeached, and if I were in Congress today, I would have already filed articles of impeachment against her.
That’s what people of New York and this entire country deserve: leaders who will stand up, say and do what’s right, and fight tooth and nail against what’s wrong.
