Instead, Congress should focus on the real needs of people who are struggling to get by in a country that is becoming increasingly unaffordable. Supplementing basic needs programs will ensure that Americans get the hand up they need to get back on their feet, feed their families and get the lifesaving health care coverage needed to survive.
