Dear John,

At a time when we’ve become accustomed to deep cuts to federal programs that matter, there is some good news: Congress has increased funding for the Violence Against Women Act, which supports programs that help survivors.

This is thanks to the commitment, advocacy, and persistence of people like you.

Your calls to your members of Congress ensured $720 million in funding this year for programs that support survivors, including youth and children.

This is a well-deserved win. But more funding is on the line.

Your continued advocacy is needed to ensure Congress funds the Family Violence Prevention and Services Act (FVPSA) and the Crime Victims Fund Stabilization Act – which supports the National Domestic Violence Hotline, thousands of domestic violence and rape crisis shelters and services, and $2 billion per year in funds for crime victims. The work continues, but today is proof that dedication and hard work can pay off and can yield the results we want and that survivors need.

Thank you for your partnership!
