Allow me to re-introduce myself: My name is Trisha Calvarese and I am the Democrat running to defeat Lauren Boebert next November.
But this campaign is about so much more than just defeating Boebert.
Standing up for workers, farmers, and families, and dismantling the winner-takes-all billionaire-first economy is what gets me up in the morning. My North Star is stopping America’s slide into a billionaire-controlled oligarchy and saving our democracy.
My heart is with the Labor movement and working people: at the AFL-CIO I fought every day for workers and unions. As a civil servant with the National Science Foundation, I helped advance life-saving research and breakthroughs for cures to diseases like cancer.
When I returned back home to care for my parents, both of whom passed away from cancer within days of each other, I saw how badly people in my home district needed someone in their corner fighting for them.
Everything in my experience, and in this campaign, is pointing to this being the blue wave election that finally gets rid of Lauren Boebert. We all can feel it. People are frustrated and angry and looking for change.
The people are fed up with Trump and Boebert’s lies, deceptions, and failures. They want someone who will fight for them AND deliver results. You don’t get that with Lauren Boebert. She’s only in this for fame, notoriety, and money and simply can’t deliver when it matters.
Lauren Boebert is a fluke. She barely won re-election, scraping by with 546 votes. And when I ran against her in 2024, we had the best performance a Democrat has ever had in the district—outperforming Kamala Harris in every single county by 6 points whereas Boebert lagged behind Donald Trump in every single county.
Our campaign is winning Republicans, Independents, and unaffiliated voters. We have outraised Boebert now two quarters in a row, and have now surpassed over $1.6 million raised since we launched late last year.
Boebert’s time is up. But it is on us to keep up the momentum to defeat her this year.
