Friends,
In advance of this weekend's anticipated winter weather, my office is sharing this resource guide to help you and your family prepare. Forecasts indicate temperatures may drop below 20 degrees, with the potential for icy conditions as early as Friday.
ERCOT has announced that it anticipates sufficient supply to meet demand this weekend and is prepared to deploy all available resources to maintain grid reliability in close coordination with the Public Utility Commission, generation providers, and transmission utilities.
We encourage you to take precautions and plan ahead. As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to our office at (512) 463-0696 if you have questions or need assistance navigating state or local resources.
Here to support you,
John Bucy III

Help Protect Yourself and Medically Fragile Neighbors
We learned hard lessons during Winter Storm Uri. Too many Texans who relied on electrically-powered medical equipment or regular medical care lost access to critical support during prolonged outages, sometimes with devastating consequences. We cannot let that happen again.
In response, our office applied lessons from Uri to strengthen disaster preparedness by adding the medically fragile registry to the State of Texas Emergency Assistance Registry, or STEAR. This voluntary and confidential registry helps emergency responders identify individuals who may need wellness checks or assistance during power, water, or gas outages.
Eligible Texans include those who are oxygen dependent, receive dialysis, have Alzheimer’s or related disorders, live with debilitating chronic conditions, or require 24 hour care. Registering yourself or a loved one helps ensure continuity of care and access to life sustaining medical equipment during an emergency.
