The generic congressional ballot shows Democrats currently with a 5-7 point average advantage.
For context, in 2018 the final average of generic ballot surveys showed Dems with a 7.3% advantage heading into the midterm election that year. Democrats ended up performing better, closer to 8.5%, and flipped 40 seats to retake control of the House.
This is why Ron DeSantis has his eye on redistricting Florida’s congressional seats to try and eliminate up to 5 Dem-held seats.
DeSantis wants to wait for the Supreme Court to gut the Voting Rights Act so that he and his cronies can freely target Black voters, discriminating against them without interference from federal courts.
