On this day in 1973, Roe v. Wade affirmed Americans’ right to safe and legal abortion.

Since Roe was overturned, abortion access has been under attack across the country — and extreme politicians are still pushing for national bans that would put reproductive freedom even further out of reach for millions of women.

As a woman and mom to a daughter, I’m outraged.

The reality is simple: overturning Roe didn’t end abortion — it made abortion more dangerous. Women are being forced to travel hundreds of miles for care, denied lifesaving medical treatment, or pushed into impossible situations by politicians who think they know better than families and doctors.

That’s why I will continue to fight like hell to protect the right to choose. Every woman — no matter where she lives — deserves the freedom to make her own decisions about her life, her health, and her future.
