Displacement in Haiti is reaching record levels. With over 6 million people in need of humanitarian aid including 225,000 pregnant women lacking access to critical prenatal and postpartum care, the crisis gripping Haiti has been described as “reaching a point of no return.”

1.3 million people are displaced with many facing catastrophic hunger and sexual violence and who have lost access to healthcare due to the collapsing health system.

A little over two months ago, Hurricane Melissa ravaged the island. Now, contaminated and stagnant floodwaters have intensified health risks and caused outbreaks of cholera. Pregnant women face a heightened level of danger daily, with infections leading to serious complications for both the mother and baby.

UNFPA operates 51 health facilities, four mobile clinics, and nine safe spaces in Haiti. But funding cuts threaten these lifelines for women and girls who rely on our services.
