Two Education Options: Public Schooling and Homeschooling

This week’s episode of Engage with Eagle Forum kicks off a two-part series that tackles a decision that parents are currently facing in light of the current pandemic: to keep their children in public schooling or to homeschool their children.

In part one, hosts Glyn McKay and Tabitha Walter interview a public-school Principal and a homeschool mom.  Natasha Harris explains how the public-school system saved her life and propelled her to become the passionate educator she is today.  After Frances Arthur placed her children in public school, she realized that her sons had unique needs and learning styles that would be better served in a homeschooled environment.  While their paths of educating others has looked different, they both agree that parents should have the ultimate say in their child’s education.

We recognize that each family situation is different which may lead to different decisions.  Because the information (or lack of information) can be overwhelming, we want to cut through the noise and give you two inside perspectives that may aid in your choice this Fall.

Stay tuned for part two where we chat with a U.S. Senate staffer on the government’s role in the current education decisions!
