Email from Mary for Illinois Join me as I explore new ways to serve the people of Northeast Illinois. Friend You are receiving this email because you have been part of my political journey. Many of you have been with me from the very beginning, when I first ran for State House in 2018, and you continued alongside me as I ran for State Senate. Today, I’m reaching out because I’m running for a leadership position within the Democratic Party, and I need your help. I am running for Democratic State Central Committeewoman for the 10th Congressional District because I believe our party is strongest when we build power from the ground up, invest in training people, build our bench, and do the hard, on-the-ground work that wins elections. I believe deeply that candidates win when they are given the tools, training, and confidence to succeed. Elections are won through a strong ground game, by knocking doors, having real conversations with our neighbors, and showing up consistently in our communities. That’s why I don’t just talk about organizing. I have volunteered, personally trained new Democrats, and knocked doors alongside them. “When I was encouraged to run for school board, I wasn’t sure I was ready—but the mentorship and support from Senator Mary Edly Allen and Lake County Democratic Women helped me find my confidence and my voice. Because of that experience, it showed me the importance of mentoring others so we continue to grow thoughtful, prepared leaders at every level.” -Nina Austin, D128 School Board “Mary is like a motivational speaker for Precinct Committee people. I walk my precinct with Mary every election cycle. She's great at engaging with voters which helps me engage with them too.” -Brian Clark, Precinct Committee Person As President of the Lake County Democratic Women for the past three years, I have a proven record of building our bench by supporting, mentoring, and helping new candidates win local elections. In the most recent cycle alone, we supported 13 first-time candidates running for local office. I also bring the unique experience of having challenged party leadership when I believed voices were being sidelined or silenced. I am not afraid to stand up for what is right within our own party, because I believe we grow stronger when we welcome new ideas and engage in honest, inclusive dialogue. As Democratic Committeewoman, I will continue my work to strengthen grassroots organizing, support candidates at every level, and build a party that is inclusive, principled, and focused on winning elections. To run a strong campaign and reach Democratic voters across the district, I am asking for your financial support. If you are able, please consider making a contribution. Every donation helps us communicate our message through mail and digital ads, organize effectively, and win. I hope I can count on your continued support at the polls on March 17 and through a contribution to the campaign. You can learn more and donate here. Thank you for believing in this work and for being part of building a stronger, more inclusive Democratic Party. With gratitude, Mary Donate here Paid for by Mary for 10th Central Committee.
