Trump at Davos, Announces Framework for a Deal Over Greenland

In a transaction that has all the hallmark signs of Trump and the Art of the Deal. Trump on Wednesday: Based upon a very productive meeting that I have had with the Secretary General of NATO, Mark Rutte, we have formed the framework of a future deal with respect to Greenland and, in fact, the entire Arctic Region. This solution, if consummated, will be a great one for the United States of America, and all NATO Nations. Based upon this understanding, I will not be imposing the Tariffs that were scheduled to go into effect on February 1st. Additional discussions are being held concerning The Golden Dome as it pertains to Greenland. Further information will be made available as discussions progress. Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, and various others, as needed, will be responsible for the negotiations — They will report directly to me (Truth). What will it look like? Speculation from the Wall Street Journal: Officials in Europe said they expect negotiations with the U.S. over Greenland to focus on four main areas…. They include a potential U.S. agreement with Denmark about stationing forces at bases in Greenland and expanded European efforts to boost security around the Arctic. The U.S. could receive a right of first refusal on investments in Greenland’s mineral resources—a veto aimed at preventing Russia and China from tapping the island’s wealth—and in exchange Trump would take tariff threats off the table, the officials said (Wall Street Journal). Beege Welborn at Hot Air: This is just the most glorious thing. For too many years, the World Economic Forum (WEF) gathering at Davos has been a kiss-the-ring of Klaus gathering of upper-crusty, dystopian-fever-dream elites, and has fed the pretensions of insufferable blowhard Brahmins like the John Kerrys of the world (Hot Air).

NATO General Secretary Rutte Supportive of Trump on Greenland
NATO General Secretary Mark Rutte—and former Prime Minister of the Netherlands: When it comes to the Arctic, I think President Trump is right. Other leaders in NATO are right. We need to defend Arctic. We know that the sea lanes are opening up. We know that China and Russia are increasingly active in the Arctic. There are eight countries bordering on the Arctic. Seven are a member of NATO, that’s Finland, and Sweden, and Norway, and Denmark, Iceland, Canada, and the US. And there’s only one country bordering on the Arctic outside NATO, and that’s Russia. And I would argue there is a ninth country which is China, which is increasingly active in the Arctic region. So: President Trump and other leaders are right. We have to do more there. We have to protect the Arctic against Russian and Chinese influence. And that’s exactly what NATO ambassadors decided to do in September. We are working on that, making sure that collectively will we defend the Arctic region (Coolidge).

Treasury Secretary Bessent Responds to Gavin Newsom: ‘Trump administration is coming to California’
Bessent is at Davos—as well as the California governor. Newsom’s been trolling and insulting both Trump and Bessent. Our Treasury Secretary was ready for a moment to respond: Governor Newsom, who strikes me as Patrick Bateman meets Sparkle Beach Ken, may be the only Californian who knows less about economics than Kamala Harris. He’s here this week with his billionaire sugar daddy, Alex Soros, and Davos is a perfect place for a man who, when everyone else is on lockdown, when he was having people arrested for going to church, he was having $1,000 a-night meals at the French Laundry. And I’m sure the California people won’t forget that. And I can tell my message to Governor Newsom is: The Trump administration is coming to California. We are going to crack down on waste, fraud, and abuse. And I was told he was asked to give a speech on his signature policies, but he’s not speaking because what have his economic policies brought? Outward migration from California, a gigantic budget deficit, the largest homeless population in America, and the poor folks in the Palisades who had their homes burned down, he is here hobnobbing with the global elite while his California citizens are still homeless. Shame on him. He is too smug, too self-absorbed, and too economically illiterate to know anything. Thank you very much. Let me know if you need any further clarification (Bet-David).

ICE Agent in Incident in Southern California; Defensive Shots Fired
In Compton. Catherine Salgado: Before the media hysteria and riots begin again over another shooting involving federal immigration officers, here is the real story unembellished by leftist mendacity. At around 7 a.m. Pacific time today, officers with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) were trying to arrest violent El Salvadoran human smuggler William Eduardo Moran Carbello. Unfortunately, the illegal alien criminal committed vehicular assault on the officers, causing one to fire at him. During the violent clash, the illegal alien escaped injury — though he did not evade arrest — but a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer did sustain injury…. Carbello has two prior arrests for “for inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant,” besides his involvement in a human smuggling operation, DHS announced on X. An immigration judge ordered that Carbello be deported back in 2019, but naturally the Biden administration didn’t enforce that. Neither did state authorities, since Carbello was apparently in California, one of the worst sanctuary states, where Gov. Gavin Newsom even protects literal murderers from ICE. And so DHS officers came to Compton, California, to arrest Carbello. Naturally, the violent criminal turned to violence in an effort to escape justice. “In a dangerous attempt to evade arrest, this criminal illegal alien weaponized his vehicle and rammed law enforcement,” DHS wrote on X. “Fearing for his life and safety, an agent fired defensive shots. The criminal illegal alien was not hit and attempted to flee on foot. He was successfully apprehended by law enforcement. The illegal alien was not injured, but a CBP officer was injured” (PJ Media).

Independent Journalist Nick Shirley Gives Testimony Before House Judiciary Committee
Nick Shirly is the young man whose You Tube video exposed the fact that the fraud in Minneapolis among the Somali community is orders of magnitude worse than most of us realized. He did well. From his testimony: I’m here today to speak on behalf of all hardworking law-abiding, tax-paying citizens here inside the United States. I’ve helped bring the light widespread fraud that’s happening inside our nation, and we the people have had enough of our hard-earned money going towards fraudsters as if it’s no big deal. As I speak here, I want to ask everyone a question: How much do we trust when we pay our taxes that’s going to benefit our nation? People erupted during the Boston Tea Party over just a few percentages as they believe they’re being taxed without representation. Nowadays, we have the representation, but do we trust our representatives? (Daugherty). Matt Margolis at PJ Media: Shirley took aim at Gov. Tim Walz, who has claimed he has fought fraud since 2019 and that “the buck stops with him.” Shirley asked how anyone could miss that kind of money disappearing year after year. He also accused Walz of smearing him as “a white supremacist, delusional conspiracy theorist,” arguing the scope of the fraud explains why the governor exited the race. He closed with a generational warning. “People like me, my generation, we’re sick of seeing tax dollars go towards fraud,” Shirley said. “We just want to have the same opportunities that our fathers and our grandparents had.” Fraud, he concluded, demands a serious crackdown. “I wish the best for our country… God bless the USA” (PJ Media).

District Court Judge Moves to Limit ICE Crowd Control Tactics in Minneapolis
Given what we’ve witnessed in recent weeks, efforts to limit what ICE can do will end up putting agents at risk. Politico: A federal judge on Friday barred federal agents in Minneapolis from arresting peaceful protesters, or using nonlethal munitions and crowd control tools against them. The 80-page ruling by U.S. District Judge Kate Menendez, a Biden appointee who sits in Minneapolis, lands amid an increasingly confrontational dynamic between the Trump administration and Minnesota officials who have accused Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents of stoking fear and violence on local streets (Politico). IJR: What’s playing out in Minneapolis isn’t some spontaneous protest—it’s a full-blown operation. That’s the word from Fox News’ Alexis McAdams, who reported that ICE agents are being stalked, doxxed, and harassed by activists who behave more like trained operatives than demonstrators. License plates are being photographed, data is collected, and federal agents are now the hunted (IJR).

Trump Pushes Video Succinctly Summarizing Plan of the Left
It’s pretty difficult to argue with it. From the video: Democrat open borders plan to entrench single-party rule explained in under two minutes: One, flood the country with untold millions of illegals by land, sea and air from all over the world. Enough to eclipse the populations of 36 individual US states so far. Two, prioritize the needs of these millions of non-citizens over the needs of the American citizen with free flights, buses, hotels, meals and phones, ensuring their loyalty to the political party that imported them. Three, keep them in the country at all costs. Even when they commit violent crime like murder and rape, attack the language used to describe the criminals as opposed to the criminals themselves. Slander critics as racist. Four, ensure their privileges are made irrevocable with city and state sanctuary laws that act as population magnets. Codify permanent status and ensure non-cooperation with ICE. Five, count the non-citizens in the census that will determine congressional apportionment in the House of Representatives (Truth).

Michele Tafoya Makes it Official: ‘Starting Today, I’m running for U.S. Senate’
The veteran sports reporter and podcast host with the Salem Podcast Network is running for the Minnesota seat currently held by Democrat Tina Smith—who is not running to defend her seat this fall. From her announcement: For years, I covered the biggest football games in America. I walked the sidelines when the pressure was mounting and the stakes were the highest. That job taught me about more than football. It taught me about how leadership really works. When leaders are prepared and accountable, teams succeed. When they aren’t, people pay the price. When I look at Minnesota and Washington today, I see politicians selling out honest, hardworking people like you. I see massive government fraud exploding on Tim Walz’ watch, ripping off taxpayers and embarrassing our state. I see radical ideologies being forced into our schools and sports, putting young women and their teammates in danger…. It’s time to bring our state together and look to the future with pride. If you’re looking for new ideas, real results, and big change, I’m Michelle Tafoya and I’m ready to lead (Tafoya; her campaign site: MicheleTafoya).

It’s A New Era in America When Churches Become Targets; ‘something seismic has happened’
And when leaders of one of our major political parties either approve it (Minnesota A.G. Keith Ellison) or seem to think it’s no big deal (Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz). Albert Mohler: this latest activist tactic is unprecedented in modern American history. Just think seriously about what happened, and imagine it happening in your church. But, you say, we don’t have an acting field director of ICE in our congregation. There is no current culture war in the streets of our community. We are safe. If you think that, you are wrong—sadly wrong and dangerously wrong. What happened in the Twin Cities may not be happening in your community, but there is no reason to believe it will not happen, right where you live and right where you worship. A critical boundary has been crossed. The left has long prized its agenda of “transgression,” and now it has pressed transgression to church invasion. No one was physically hurt, and the congregation will continue its work and witness, but make no mistake: At moments like this, Christians have to understand that nothing has happened and, at the same time, that something seismic has happened (World).

New York City, 2026: ‘Manhattan comedy club cancels Israeli comedian amid protest by pro-Hamas groups’
This is New York City under the leadership of Mayor Mamdani. Jewish Insider: A Manhattan comedy club canceled Israeli comedian Guy Hochman’s show on Tuesday night after pro-Hamas groups protested outside of the venue. “The owner of the place was afraid and canceled the show,” Hochman told Jewish Insider, referring to Broadway Comedy Club, located near Times Square…. City College of New York’s Students for Justice in Palestine chapter was among the groups promoting the Tuesday demonstration on social media. It shared a post from the New York City chapter of the Palestinian Youth Movement that said “victory” was achieved by the cancellation. CCNY SJP, which remains a registered student group, also participated in this month’s pro-Hamas protest in Queens that caused nearby schools and a synagogue to close early. Outside the comedy venue, masked demonstrators banged on drums, chanted and held signs that read “clean up the trash,” “death to the IDF” and “no war criminals in our city.” A heavy NYPD presence was called to monitor the protest (Jewish Insider). This came after Hochman was detained for six hours in Toronto after a pro-Hamas group filed a complaint on him (JTA).
