I don’t take this lightly.
Tommy Tuberville — a sitting U.S. Senator — just publicly referred to me as “the enemy inside the gates.”

Not because of my record. Not because of my values. But because I am an immigrant, a Muslim, and a woman who dared to serve.
Those words are dangerous. And they were chosen on purpose.
I swore an oath to the Constitution of the United States — the same Constitution that promises freedom of religion, equality under the law, and dignity for every American. No elected official should ever use divisive, hateful rhetoric to suggest that someone like me does not belong in our democracy.
But this isn’t just about me.
It’s about whether we accept a politics that treats immigrants, Muslims, and women as threats — or whether we draw a clear line and say we’re better than this.
That’s why I’m asking you to stand with me.
