Friend,

This is not a headline we wrote to grab your attention. That was a direct warning from Brooklyn Park Police Chief Mark Bruley and several Minnesota police chiefs about ICE’s conduct in their communities:

There is so little oversight of ICE and their behavior in our neighborhoods that they feel free to pull their weapons on even local law enforcement officers. Despite the mountain of evidence and personal testimonies, ICE and DHS still refuse to issue an apology or admit any wrong doing.

Friend, a functioning democracy CANNOT function with a secret police force that knows it has complete and total immunity from the law. In the words of Police Chief Bruley, “It has to stop.”

Country First isn’t sitting this fight out. Tomorrow, we’re mobilizing our army of volunteers to stand up for accountability and flood congressional offices with demands that IMMEDIATE investigations be opened into ICE’s flagrant abuse of power and countless violations of our Constitution.

Tomorrow’s just the start. Our Democracy demands accountability. Until that day happens, we will not sit on the sidelines. 

Polls show the American people are with us in this fight. But we’re up against an administration that has zero regard for the will of the people.
