The Independent: Trump DOJ admits DOGE Social Security staff worked with political group trying to ‘overturn election results’ [[link removed]]
Two members of Elon Musk’s DOGE team at the Social Security Administration were secretly working with a right-wing advocacy group trying to “overturn election results,” the Trump Department of Justice admitted in a court filing.
While the Social Security Administration (SSA) has not yet admitted whether voter data was actually shared with the group, SSA did admit the agreement bypassed internal safeguards designed to prevent exactly this kind of misuse of personal government data.
SSA also did not release the name of the right-wing political group that the DOGE staffers engaged in unauthorized communications and data planning tied directly to election denial efforts. We can be reasonably sure that it's MAGA-aligned, however.
This news is being lost in the avalanche of terrible things the Trump administration is doing, but this is a blaring red siren for both November and future elections . We must spread the word about this blatant attempt to overturn election results while we hold the administration accountable for this privacy violation and, above all, defend our fundamental right to vote.

According to the Justice Department, “ the advocacy group’s stated aim was to find evidence of voter fraud and to overturn election results in certain states .”
DOJ also said that emails “ suggest that DOGE Team members could have been asked to assist the advocacy group by accessing [Social Security] data to match to the voter rolls. ”
You just know, John, that if Trump's MAGA DOJ had to admit this in a court filing, it's bad. And likely much worse than we're being told so far. Which is exactly why we have to spread the word to every voter we can reach and act to protect both our data and our fundamental rights.

Integrity First Voter Action Project is dedicated to expanding ballot access and increasing voter participation across the country.
Since the Supreme Court gutted key provisions in the Voting Rights Act, extreme politicians have taken advantage to pass harsh laws that restrict access to the ballot box. These restrictions particularly affect disadvantaged communities and people of color. It’s our goal to bring awareness to these laws wherever they may crop up and organize voters to take action to ensure the right to vote is available to everyone in their states and communities.
