** NAS Endorses Michigan's Academic Content Standards Bill ([link removed])

Michigan State Representative Gina Johnson has introduced House Bill 5364 to require that revisions to academic content standards can only go into effect if they are approved by a concurrent resolution by both the Michigan Senate and House of Representatives.

** AHI Announces Two New Courses to Celebrate US Semiquincentennial ([link removed])

The Declaration of Independence’s semiquincentennial is fast approaching. The United States will turn 250 years old on July 4, 2026. Let the celebrations of this historic event begin! With Independence Day in mind, The Alexander Hamilton Institute for the Study of Western Civilization (AHI), will offer two courses in the spring of 2026. ** NEH Invites Applications to Build Endowments for Research and Teaching of Western Civilization, American History and Government, and Civics ([link removed])

Endowments for Advancing the Humanities awards provide funds for 20-year term endowments to support long-term work in the humanities. Applicants may propose up to three years to raise and certify non-federal gifts that will be matched one-to-one with NEH federal matching funds. Once award recipients have certified the required amount of non-federal gifts, they will establish a term endowment and spend its income to advance the work of the humanities at their organizations.
