You need to know what Kris Mayes's opponent Warren Petersen is doing right now.

While serving as Arizona Senate President, Petersen is backing legislation that would criminalize protesting ICE arrests. At the same time, he's defending the ICE agent who shot and killed Renée Good, a U.S. citizen, on January 7th.

This is the man who wants to be Arizona's next Attorney General.

The legislation Petersen supports would jail Arizonans for "obstructing" ICE operations. It's being pushed by Rep. John Gillette — a former Illinois sheriff's deputy who resigned after 42 complaints, including multiple for excessive force.

Gillette's message? "ICE are sworn law enforcement officers and you shall not resist. Follow the law — comply, don't die."

The same Gillette who called for a Democratic congresswoman to be executed. The same Gillette who referred to American Muslims as "f*cking savages" who should be deported.

Here's what Petersen and his allies haven't mentioned: Renée Good was a U.S. citizen.

They haven't called for accountability for the agent who killed her. They haven't demanded an investigation. Instead, they're criminalizing dissent and attacking anyone who questions ICE's actions.

Meanwhile, ICE agents pepper-sprayed U.S. Rep. Adelita Grijalva during a Tucson raid — the same Representative-elect that Kris sued on behalf of to get seated in Congress.

This is the choice Arizona faces in the Attorney General race: Kris Mayes, who believes government agents should be held accountable when they kill citizens? Or Warren Petersen, who wants to jail people for questioning government authority?

Kris fights for constitutional rights and transparency.

The Attorney General is supposed to be the people's lawyer — not the government's defender when it kills citizens.
