Since you heard from us a TON earlier this month around our Matching Funds Deadline, I wanted to reach out and give you an update on what we've been up to since then.
FIRST: We absolutely smashed our Matching Funds Goal earlier this month , maximizing the funds we're receiving as part of the state's public finance program and setting ourselves up nicely for the campaign ahead. I am, above everything, humbled by your support, and I want to take a moment here to say a big THANK YOU.
THEN: Governor Hochul included my newest bill to protect kids online as part of her State of the State address! My bill protects kids from adults who seek to exploit them and holds Big Tech accountable for the safety of their products, and I'm excited to work with the Governor as we move forward with this crucial legislation. We even made the New York Times ! ⬇️

NOW: It's back to work in Albany, advancing the common-sense policies that benefit folks across New York . In addition to my child safety legislation, we're working with Governor Hochul and Mayor Mamdani towards delivering universal childcare . And of course, we're working on more legislation to make our state more affordable for working families.

Andrew Gounardes is a champion for the working class and middle class families that are the backbone of New York.
He’s passed more than 100 bills into law, including legislation to protect kids from harmful social media algorithms, close a loophole in the state’s wage theft law, strengthen payment protections for freelance workers, expand the life-saving school zone speed camera program, guarantee family death benefits for public workers who died from Covid-19, and help secure and expand benefits for 9/11 responders.
He is working to help make college more affordable for New York students, dismantle the legal protections that allow perpetrators of workplace harassment and discrimination to prey on vulnerable workers, tackle the housing crisis by making it easier to build more affordable housing, and as a daily transit rider, fighting to improve the reliability, accessibility, and accountability of the MTA for all New Yorkers.
