We know you’re probably as outraged and sickened by ICE’s brutality as we are. Right now, average citizens in cities and towns that look like yours are being attacked, taken, and even killed. Immigrants are dying in detention in alarming numbers. It’s hard to watch and even harder to feel powerless to stop it.

But you don’t have to sit on the sidelines—and Representative Eleanor Holmes Norton shouldn’t either. Congress has the power to hold ICE accountable, and we have the opportunity to make sure they stiffen their spines and actually get to work.

We’re facing a critical government funding deadline on January 30th, and we can use that to our advantage by demanding Congress withhold any additional funding for ICE.

Tell your representatives to demand accountability and oppose additional funding for DHS without safeguards that rein in ICE’s violence and lawlessness.

In their Billionaire Budget last year, Trump and Congressional Republicans nearly tripled funding for ICE, making it the highest-funded law enforcement agency in the country. All of this money came from somewhere—from cutting healthcare funding for millions of Americans to gutting other vital social services.

Your tax dollars shouldn’t be used to terrorize your community or kill innocent people.

Tell your lawmakers that lives are at stake. It’s up to them to use the power of the purse on January 30th by withholding funding for this violent band of thugs until something is done to stop their abuses. It’s time for ICE to stop terrorizing our country. Urge your legislators to withhold further ICE spending.
