John, it's Team Lander reaching out.
Every day, we’re watching ICE’s assault on the rights of immigrants and citizens in Minneapolis get worse. It is truly horrifying.
Sadly, ICE’s attacks on our neighbors have only gotten worse here in New York City as well – including some new tactics that are much less visible.
Most recently, the Department of Homeland Security introduced a quiet new horror known as "pretermission," cutting asylum seekers off and removing them from the country without even a fair hearing. And in some cases, they're deporting them to a third country (like Uganda or El Salvador), without ever offering them the chance to explain their fear of being persecuted.
Last June, Brad was arrested at 26 Federal Plaza for being in ICE's way as they tried to kidnap immigrant New Yorkers.
The incident was so widely publicized that the New York Post is still bringing it up ⬇️

Brad hasn’t stopped showing up since then – he’s been court-watching and accompanying neighbors weekly. Helping people get connected to legal services. Calling attention to pretermission and other cruel actions.
And he is taking his own case to trial. The Department of Homeland Security is accusing him of “unreasonably obstructing the usual use” of the 10th floor of 26 Federal Plaza. But the usual use of that floor is not a detention facility, where people sleep on the ground.
The crime isn’t what they arrested Brad for in the elevator lobby – it’s what ICE is doing on the other side of its locked doors. And in Minnesota. And across the country.
John, the federal government is denying due process, and Congress won't even lift a finger. We deserve a member of Congress who will use every tool at his disposal to fight back. Can you chip in to help Brad take the fight to Congress? [[link removed]]

Brad is an organizer who brings neighbors together to win big fights, and a problem-solver who gets things done.
He’s been fighting for his neighbors for decades – as a dad, a housing organizer, our City Councilmember, and our Comptroller. He’s a proven legislator whose laws deliver for working people. In Congress, he’ll fight for all of us.
Brad is running for Congress because at this urgent moment, we need leaders who will fight, not fold.
Fight against an authoritarian federal government that is abducting our neighbors.
Fight for a New York that is affordable and welcoming for everyone.
Fight for an economy that isn’t stacked against us.
Fight to make government actually deliver on the promise of the American dream.
