The Trump Administration cut hundreds of National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health jobs. Also known as NIOSH. These jobs are incredibly important to protect our workers from disease and injuries.
This was a huge hit to my district. And I got to work.
By organizing more than 100 members of Congress, we got the attention of RFK Jr. and the Department of Health and Human Services to prioritize getting these jobs back.
I brought it up during my hearing in the Energy and Commerce Committee with Secretary of HHS RFK Jr. I publicly asked if we could work together on reinstating these jobs during committee — and he said yes.
Seeing these jobs reinstated is a huge deal. That’s what members of Congress should do – go hard for the people they represent.
