Dear John,
Breaking: Rep. Pete Stauber’s resolution to overturn the 20-year mining ban protecting the Boundary Waters is being voted on TODAY in the U.S. House of Representatives.
We need to flood the phones with calls to vote NO on H.J. Resolution 140. Can you take two minutes to call Delegate Norton? [[link removed]]
Rep. Stauber is using the Congressional Review Act, a fast-track process, never before used in this manner , that forces a simple-majority congressional vote. The window to stop this is narrowing.
Already called? Call again. Sustained pressure leading up to and the day of a vote is what actually moves undecided representatives. Folks on the ground are telling us the calls are making an impact, but we need to keep pressure on through the vote.
Haven’t called yet? There’s still time. Your voice matters just as much.

If this resolution passes:
* 225,000+ acres of the Superior National Forest would reopen to sulfide-ore copper mining.
* The Boundary Waters watershed would be exposed to pollution risks we’ve fought for decades.
* Future administrations would be permanently blocked from using this same legal authority to protect the Boundary Waters ever again.
* A dangerous national precedent would be set, making it easier to permanently roll back protections from public lands and waters across the country.
The U.S. House is voting this afternoon. Delegate Norton needs to hear from you now.
Why your call matters right now:
Congressional offices track call volume before major votes. The message is simple: "Vote NO on H.J. Resolution 140 and protect the Boundary Waters."
It takes less than 2 minutes. We'll connect you directly and provide a simple script.

Already called? You can also send an email to your representative. [[link removed]]
We are seeing real movement. Undecided representatives are listening. The surge of calls is working, but only if we sustain it through the vote.
We are in a decisive moment. We can win 100 times, but we can only lose the Boundary Waters once.
