Dear John,
To continue the recent tradition of giving New Zealanders certainty on when the election is, today I announced it will be on the 7th of November this year.
But before we look ahead, I’d like to reflect on the progress we’ve made.
Over the past two years, National has focused on fixing the basics and building the future to help Kiwis get ahead.
I believe we’re making great progress.
We’ve lowered taxes, reduced inflation and interest rates, making life easier for you and your family.
We’ve prioritised teaching the basics in schools and boosting student achievement. We have used every tool at our disposal to crackdown on crime, making our streets safer for everyone.
The alternative?
The same Labour Party that left a mess last time, and would make things worse with the Greens and Te Pāti Māori.
A capital gains tax would be just the beginning of policies that punish Kiwis for saving and investing.
After Labour spends everything they’ve got, they always come after more of yours.
On 7 November 2026, you will decide if New Zealand continues with National’s plan to fix the basics and build the future to secure a better future for all New Zealanders OR return to Chris Hipkins’ Labour Party who will make the same mistakes as before, leaving you and your family worse off.
Until then though, National will be completely focused on delivering for you and all New Zealanders.
Best wishes,
Christopher Luxon
P.S. Thank you for your continued support. We hope you can contribute to our campaign fund so we’re ready to tackle the upcoming election!
