Dear Neighbors,
Since the federal government’s occupation of our state and communities, there has been much attention on the volatility and lawlessness of ICE and federal agents. 'Operation Metro Surge' is being conducted under the guise of public safety, but over the past several weeks, we have all witnessed ongoing unconstitutional acts and human rights violations. These actions are not making any of us safer. I continue to stand with all Minnesotans and am ready for ICE to cease operations and leave our state.
Despite the chaos they have created, I have not lost my legislative focus on addressing gun violence prevention. There is a lot of important work ahead to improve public safety in Minnesota, and I hope you’ll join me in doing it.
I understand the complexity of the reality we are living in, but it is important for us to continue to have meaningful dialogue on developing legislation to protect Minnesotans and our children from gun violence.
I will be hosting a *Town Hall on Gun Violence Prevention on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, from 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM*.
I will be joined by a special panel, including:
* Jess Palyan, Policy Program Manager, Violence Free Minnesota
* Jordan Borer Nelson, Executive Director, MAD DADS of Minneapolis
* Emanual Williams, Community Defense Attorney, Legal Rights Center
* Ashley Sarow, JCPP Community Liaison, New Hope Police Department
* Antonio Williams, Founder, Executive Director, T.O.N.E U.P.
Please RSVP to receive the location details and submit your questions here: [link removed] [ [link removed] ]
All are welcomed to attend. I look forward to your engagement and a robust discussion.
