Sometimes when a new line is crossed, an old norm shattered, or a bedrock democratic principle demolished, we can’t help imagining young Stephen Miller. Like any other Jewish kid of his generation, he was taught about the atrocities of the Holocaust, and he would have been surrounded by horrified classmates who took note not just of the threat to Jews but the dangers of authoritarian bigotry.
But Miller wasn’t horrified or taking caution. He was taking notes. For this little sociopath, the study of Naziism was not a dark chapter in a history book; it was a how-to guide.
At least that’s how we imagine it. And yes, in this version, 8-year-old Stephen Miller is already bald and a total dweeb. Time to log on.
Whatever happened to dement the mind of young Stephen Miller, we cannot honestly say, but as students of history, we can tell you without equivocation that he is taking our country chapter by chapter through the Nazi playbook.
Looking back, it’s clear this was always the plan. The nation — well, most of us — was absolutely horrified earlier this year when the White House started displaying large posters of immigrant mugshots along with the crimes they committed on the lawn:
Wonder where he got that idea?
This scratches the surface of how eagerly the Trump II team has embraced Nazi propaganda tactics, slogans, and political beliefs.
In the wake of the Renee Good murder, the Nazi-talk has been ratcheted up to 88 [ [link removed] ]. On January 10th, the Department of Labor (??!!) posted “One Homeland. One People. One Heritage,” in a tweet, an obvious allusion to the Nazi slogan “Ein Volk, ein Reich, ein Führer.”
Homeland Security’s own Gestapo Barbie, Kristi Noem, appeared at a podium emblazoned with “ONE OF OURS, ALL OF YOURS,” which, contrary to RATM’s Tom Morello’s viral post [ [link removed] ], is not a direct quote referring to the massacre of all men in a Czech village in retribution for the murder of an SS officer but IS a direct description of Nazi Germany’s policy of collective punishment. [ [link removed] ]
Sign the petition demanding Kristi Noem be FIRED for smearing Renee Good as a terrorist! [ [link removed] ]
Last year, Homeland Security shared a poster with the slogan “Which way, American man?” which is a reference to a book by a neo-Nazi entitled “Which Way, Western Man?” [ [link removed] ], which argues that “Race consciousness, and discrimination on the basis of race, are absolutely essential to any race’s survival. … That is why the Jews are so fiercely for it for themselves…and fiercely against it for us, because we are their intended victim.”
Just look at the rhetoric pouring out of the mouths of Trump and all his little toadies. Immigrants smeared as invaders, as “filthy,” of having mental illness and carrying disease, of being rapists who pollute and steal [ [link removed] ], it’s all textbook Nazi shit. And they’re more and more brazen about it with every passing day.
Here is the leading State Department official in charge of public diplomacy just a few days ago arguing with a Nazi account about whose fault it is that brown people live in Europe:
Such sentiments are all over ICE recruitment posters, making it very clear that ICE is being empowered to serve as Trump’s personal Brownshirts [ [link removed] ]to terrorize Democratic cities and inflict state-approved violence against its unwanted minorities.
To make sure we’re not missing the incredibly loud dog whistles, Border Patrol chief Greg Bovino has taken to rocking a Nazi-style long jacket when he goes out to inspect the chaos.
After Renee Good was murdered by Jonathan Ross, DHS posted this recruitment flyer with the words “WE’LL HAVE OUR HOME AGAIN,” which is yet another neo-Nazi reference; this time, to a neo-Nazi song by the same name by Pine Tree Riots. Its lyrics were the opening words of the manifesto written by Christopher Palmeter, the white supremacist who murdered three Black people in a Jacksonville store.
The Trump administration is taunting the world with its obvious neo-Nazi beliefs, and the ICE deployment to Minnesota represents these beliefs being put into action. ICE is very clearly Trump’s Sturmabteilung [ [link removed] ], violating the law and our Constitution left and right in a lawless rampage that echoes their raids in 1930s Germany.
They’re even confident enough to start quietly introducing their ultimate plans for the United States, which are downright Hitlerian in scope and intention.
Trump’s goons are openly admitting it. They aren’t stopping at undocumented immigrants. They aren’t even stopping at immigrants (there are only 47 million foreign-born people in the US).
When they say they intend to deport 100 million people, they’re talking about virtually every non-white person within our borders. They’re talking about ethnic cleansing. This is the Nazi playbook that Stephen Miller is putting into action. They aren’t being subtle about it, and we need to pay attention.
