One year ago today, Donald Trump took the oath of office once again and gave the richest man on earth carte blanche access to our government.

We know that Elon Musk’s DOGE forced out 7,000 of the Social Security Administration workers who had made sure that Social Security paid benefits in full and on time for 90 years. We know that he was abusing the Social Security database to falsely mark people as dead when their names match certain suspected immigrants. And we know that his DOGE goons put the entire Social Security database on an insecure server―a hacker’s dream. We knew all this happened―but we didn’t know why. Until now.

Two members of Elon Musk’s DOGE team working at the Social Security Administration were secretly in touch with an advocacy group seeking to “overturn election results in certain states,” and one signed an agreement that may have involved using Social Security data to match state voter rolls, the Justice Department revealed in newly disclosed court papers.

There’s still a lot we don’t know. But what’s clear is that Donald Trump’s Justice Department―the same Justice Department that’s investigating Renee Nicole Good’s wife, rather than her killer―deemed this significant enough to reveal it in a “correction” to testimony related to a lawsuit against DOGE.
