Well, here we are, friend.

We've officially survived Year One of Trump’s second term – so today, I want to take stock of what's gone down since Inauguration Day, and why I still need you with me in this fight.

But first: As one of my most engaged supporters, you already know our best hope of cutting his chaotic, corrupt, and dangerous reign short is by flipping the Senate blue. And, you likely know we'll only succeed if we build the resources to win ahead of time. Now, let's start with how Trump unleashed chaos from Day One: by letting unelected billionaire Elon Musk and the now-defunct DOGE break the federal government, fill the civil service with loyalist stooges, and push already underfunded agencies to the brink.

Then, from installing an anti-vax conspiracy theorist as our nation's top health care official, to taking an axe to lifesaving biomedical research, the Trump administration systematically put politics over science and public health.

Soon after, Trump and the multi-billionaire former pro-wrestling exec Linda McMahon began working overtime to ABOLISH the Department of Education and pilfer the resources intended to support teachers, families, and students.

All the while, Republicans in Congress refused to stop Trump from unilaterally raising taxes on working families – more than any president in my life – with reckless tariffs that have driven up costs for families across the board. 

By July, he and the GOP moved heaven and earth to make billionaire tax cuts permanent, in part by gutting Medicaid, SNAP, and other programs Americans rely on; betraying working families; and exploding the national debt by trillions in turn.

But just this month, Trump – the guy who calls himself "The Peace President" – nearly started a war of choice in Venezuela (without ever notifying Congress) so he and his Big Oil donors might exploit its oil reserves for profit. And he's still playing footsy with the idea of INVADING Greenland.

Amidst all of this, Trump's immigration policies greenlit the use of egregious force and depraved tactics to detain thousands without due process – including U.S. citizens – disappear hundreds, and terrorize communities nationwide.

And less than two weeks ago, the masked goons enacting his cruel mass deportation agenda with impunity brutally shot and killed a citizen in Minnesota.

Each and every day of the past year, Trump has abused his power to line his own pockets with billions, reward his "Big Lie" loyalists, and benefit his billionaire buddies at home and abroad.

So while I've barely scratched the surface, one thing should be crystal clear: Trump spent his first year back in power turning our republic into a government of the crooks, for the crooks, and by the crooks – and he WILL be remembered as the most corrupt president in history.

Now, I know it's been a long, difficult year. But we have to remember that Trump is not all-powerful. And he will not always be in power.

So now more than ever, your voice and your vote MATTER. Because when we all speak out and fight back together, we make a difference.
