Friend,

A year ago today, Donald Trump's second administration began – and what a year it's been for our state.

Now, Colorado isn’t the only state to have incurred his wrath over the last year. But he's uniquely put our state in his crosshairs lately because we've refused to bend to his tyrannical demands, every step of the way – and I hope you'll stick around to let me explain.

But if you're short on time, then before you click away: Will you please help me keep our state the model of how to best fight back against Trump's reckless, power-hungry extremism by donating any amount today to help elect me as our next governor?

Back in 2023, Colorado's Supreme Court disqualified Trump from the ballot over his role in the Jan. 6 insurrection. The U.S. Supreme Court overruled the decision, but from that point on, he's had it out for our state.

So first, the DOJ ordered us to fork over the voter rolls, ballots and registration data for millions of voters, as well as our voting machines, in a hunt for evidence supporting his false 2020 election claims. In accordance with state law, Colorado's election officials, on both sides of the aisle, refused to obey.

Then, Trump held a press conference to formally announce that he was moving U.S. Space Command from Colorado Springs to Alabama because he doesn’t like Colorado’s gold standard mail-in voting system.

And last month, Trump renewed his pressure campaign for Big Lie co-conspirator Tina Peters' transfer from Colorado state prison to federal custody so that he could pardon her.

I then single-handedly blocked 88 of his nominees in the Senate, after throwing my support behind a one-time mid-cycle redistricting in Colorado to counteract his dangerous plan to ensure his party maintains its grip on the House majority. So in the days and weeks that followed, he opened the floodgates:

* Cancelling over $700 million in transportation funding and renewable energy and climate efforts;

* Dismantling the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder;

* Denying two major disaster declaration requests for the Elk and Lee fires and the flooding in western Colorado;

* Vetoing my Arkansas Valley Conduit bill to supply clean drinking water to 50,000 folks in rural southeast Colorado;

* Ordering us to recertify eligibility and conduct in-person interviews for more than 100,000 households receiving food stamps, and threatening to take away SNAP funding from Colorado should we fail to comply;

* And trying – and failing – to freeze another $10 billion in federal funds for child care centers.

That brings us to today. By now, the reason Trump keeps attacking us should be crystal clear: When he tries to play king out in Washington, we don't let him get his way.

And as Colorado's next governor, I will ensure we carry on our state's legacy of fighting these politically motivated attacks for as long as it takes him to stop – even if it means fighting until 2029's Inauguration Day.

But unlike the president, I'm not an out-of-touch billionaire who can buy this race. I cannot win without your grassroots support, friend.

So I hope you'll help me make good on this promise – and keep Colorado the nationwide blueprint on how to push back against Trump's cruelty and chaos – with your first contribution of $5, or anything you can give, right away.[link removed]

If you made it this far, thanks for reading, and all you do.

Keep the faith,

Michael
