A Christmas note from our family as we reflect on the year and look forward to 2026.
A Christmas note from our family as we reflect on the season.
John,
We hope this note finds you well. We enjoyed the holidays. Twenty-one family joined us at our home on Pewaukee Lake this Christmas. What a joy to have our sons and daughters-in-law, their families, my brother's family, a grandnephew and grandniece, cousins, and my mother. It has been wonderful to have everyone together for Christmas and throughout the holidays!
We took the kids on a memorable trip for Tonette's birthday this year. It was great, but we always appreciate coming back home to the United States. As we prepare to celebrate the 250th anniversary of our beloved republic, we are even more grateful to our founders for the freedoms we hold dear today.
This coming 4th of July will be about celebrating more than a birthday. It is worth acknowledging our independence from the government, rather than our dependence on it.
In the same way, Christmas is about far more than special gifts and family gatherings. For us, it is about remembering that God loved us so much that he sent his one and only Son as a baby, who grew and taught, and ultimately died on the cross for our sins. Gloriously, he rose from the grave. For those who follow him, Jesus offers eternal life. That is the ultimate gift!
We hope you had a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year,
*Scott and Tonette*
