The current state of our rights and what comes next.
We've spent the last year using every tool at our disposal to defeat, delay, and dilute President Trump's anti-civil liberties agenda. Learn about the people leading this moment, the wins we've secured, the challenges we've faced, and the fight still ahead >> <[link removed]>
ACLU Supporter, one year ago, President Donald Trump was sworn in for a second term. Within hours, it was clear that he and his administration would, once again, test the Constitution and the willingness of our nation's institutions and people to defend it.
Since then, we've been here fighting back – holding off some of the most harmful plans of this administration. In fact, a few days ago, as the president threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act to send military into Minnesota, we were filing suit against federal agents' unconstitutional and illegal arrests of people in the state.
So, as we mark one year of President Trump's return, we've laid it all out for you – wins, losses, lessons learned, and most importantly, a roadmap to keep fighting back. Dive into our report today. <[link removed]>

ACLU Supporter, it's been 365 days of President Trump issuing a blitz of executive orders and other policy directives that threaten birthright citizenship, trans rights, freedom of speech, and voting rights. He's sent federal troops and National Guard units to our cities. He's expanded ICE detention and tried to deport unprecedented numbers of people.
Some have wondered aloud whether we're in a constitutional crisis. Our response is simple: We are only in a constitutional crisis if we allow ourselves to be. The ACLU will not allow this.
* Across the country, ACLU affiliates and partners trained more than 84,000 people on their rights and enrolled 180,000 individuals in our People Power activist program. When protests were met with militarized responses, we expanded our training nationwide, equipping tens of thousands of people to demonstrate safely and lawfully.
* Our supporters have sent hundreds of thousands of messages to Congress and government officials advocating on behalf of immigrants facing neglect and abuse in detention centers.
* Our legal team has taken over 230 legal actions, with 64% of our cases successfully delaying, diluting, or defeating the Trump administration's policy.
A year out from the election, we have the hard-won lessons to prepare for what's ahead. Check out the full report here. <[link removed]>
Democracy doesn't defend itself – people do. And together, we will keep showing up.
