I will echo what I’ve been saying for more than a decade: America’s Founders never intended for the federal government to wield the centralized power it holds today. The steady expansion of bureaucracy and federal overreach should make one thing clear: states must reassert their constitutional authority.

The Convention of States is not radical. It is constitutional. It is lawful. And it is exactly the mechanism the Founders provided when Washington grows too large and too distant from the people.

I signed the Convention of States pledge in 2018 and reaffirmed it again in 2021 because I believe restoring balance between the states and the federal government is essential to preserving liberty for the next generation.

Thank you for standing up for the Constitution and for staying engaged in this important effort.
