John — in 1966, Dr. King led the Chicago Freedom Movement, walking our neighborhoods, demanding justice, and showing that real change doesn’t come from words alone — it comes from collective action.

Today, those same struggles persist. Inequality, disinvestment, and ignored voices are all still a part of our reality.

And it’s up to all of us to call out injustice when we see it, and to stand together in the fight for progress.

This Martin Luther King Jr. Day, I’m reflecting on how I can do more to fight for a more just America, and I hope you’ll take some time to do the same!

Democrat for IL-02

Robert Peters
Robert Peters knows what it means to defy the odds. Born deaf to a mother battling addiction and raised by a social worker and a civil rights attorney on the South Side of Chicago, he learned early on what it means to fight for justice and care for the community.

That’s why he became a public servant—to build systems that work for all people.

Now, Robert is ready to take that fight to Washington and build an Illinois that works for all of us—not just the wealthy or well-connected. But he can’t do it alone.

So please, will you become a Founding Donor today and power this people-first, grassroots movement? >>
