John,
In recent days, President Trump sure has been busy. Not with showing leadership or overseeing a national strategy to address the coronavirus pandemic. Not with telling Mitch McConnell to stop a months-long blockade of assistance to tens of millions of Americans who have lost their jobs.
No, he’s been busy doing the following:
- Refusing to commit to accepting the 2020 general election results, laying the foundation to discredit the votes of millions who vote by mail.
- Trying to prevent more funding for testing from being included in a new COVID-19 relief package.
- Going on Fox News to brag about passing what he called a really “difficult” cognitive test typically administered to someone thought to possibly have dementia or cognitive impairment.
- Abusing executive power by sending federal officers to American cities like Portland, where agents have taken demonstrators away in unmarked rental cars and detained them without probable cause.
- Vowing to veto legislation that would rename military bases that currently honor confederate leaders, and arguing that the confederate flag is a “proud symbol” of the South.
I could go on and on.
The list of Trump’s outrageous attacks on our democracy and our country is long, but fortunately, we’re now just 100 days away from the general election and our chance to vote him out of office for good.
Together, we must remove this dangerous man from the White House, take back control of the Senate, and strengthen our House majority in order to steer our country back towards progress. But it’s going to take massive grassroots support from people like you for us to win.
With our July fundraising deadline coming up this Friday, can you spare a contribution of $10 or whatever you can afford to fuel our efforts to replace Trump with a real leader and elect more Democrats to the House and Senate? Time is running out.
