Hello John,

I am pleased to share that I recently had the honor of personally presenting ISI’s Charles H. Hoeflich Lifetime Achievement Award to its 2025 recipient, Amb. John Langeloth Loeb, Jr. This award is given to individuals whose lives have made a strong and lasting impact on advancing freedom and virtue.

To commemorate the occasion, America’s top diplomat, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, wrote to John that “This distinguished honor is a fitting tribute to a lifetime of extraordinary service to our Nation and its founding principles...The United States is stronger because of patriots like you.”

After graduating from Harvard Business School in 1954, John joined the U.S. Air Force. While serving, he uncovered major overtime abuses at the Douglas Aircraft factory and created a system that saved taxpayers millions of dollars. He then moved into public service, becoming Governor Nelson Rockefeller’s environmental advisor and leading several New York State environmental councils.

In 1981, President Ronald Reagan appointed John as the U.S. Ambassador to Denmark. During his tenure, he received the Grand Cross of the Order of the Dannebrog for his service. He later served as a U.S. delegate to the United Nations and stayed active in national Republican politics.

John also founded the George Washington Institute for Religious Freedom and serves as Chairman Emeritus of the Winston Churchill Foundation of the United States.

I visited John’s home in White Plains, New York, to present the award in person. Following the presentation, Brian Kilmeade from Fox & Friends interviewed John about his life’s work and modern American politics. We recorded both the award ceremony and the interview, and you can watch them at the link below.
