I grew up in a working-class immigrant family here in the Central Valley. My parents worked hard just to get by, and like so many families around us, we relied on programs like Medicaid to survive.

From a young age, I learned what it meant to fall through the cracks, and what happens when the people in power decide you’re expendable. That’s why I’ve spent my life standing up for working families who are too often ignored.

And it’s why David Valadao’s record is so infuriating.

He voted to gut Medicaid, even though nearly 70% of our district relies on Medi-Cal. He allowed critical ACA tax credits to expire on January 1st, driving up health insurance costs for families across the Valley. And only after people were hurt did Washington paper over the damage they caused.

That’s the pattern: families suffer first, politicians react later.

This race is one of the best chances in the country to hold a Republican accountable for betraying his constituents. CA-22 is flippable, but only if we build real momentum now.
