Team, on this Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we are reflecting on the legacy of the civil rights movement that won historic protections of our rights.

It’s especially poignant at a time when our voting rights face an ongoing assault from anti-democracy extremists across the country and the U.S. Supreme Court is considering weakening the Voting Rights Act.

As A.G. Holder put it, “we cannot shrink from the responsibility that rests, in this uniquely consequential moment, in our hands.” Right now, we’re counting on your support to keep up the fight to defend democracy.

The future of our most fundamental rights depends on what people like us do in moments like this. 

Today and always, let’s channel Dr. King’s mission to uphold our civil rights and oppose the forces that seek to undermine the basic promise of a truly fair, truly representative democracy.
