John, Today, we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. It’s a day to reflect on how far our country has come in the fight for civil rights, and how far we still have to go to achieve true equality.
This quote from Dr. King feels especially true in the moment we are in: "We still have a choice today: nonviolent coexistence or violent coannihilation. This may well be mankind's last chance to choose between chaos and community." Dr. King reminded us that progress doesn’t happen on its own. It comes from people who are willing to speak up, show up, and work toward a more just and inclusive democracy.
On this Martin Luther King Jr. Day, I hope you can take a moment to reflect on his legacy and consider how you can help move our country closer to the values he fought for.
Thank you for being a part of this work.
Best,
