Dear Friend,

Today is my birthday -- and I’m turning 40! This January also marks the start of my tenth year representing Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, and Nantucket in the Massachusetts Senate.

Those milestones have me reflecting on what an extraordinary honor it has been to represent the very community I grew up in—and to represent the Cape Cod values that shaped me every day. At a moment when those values are being tested across our country, it matters more than ever that we continue to bring the Cape and Islands’ spirit of inclusiveness, fairness, and decency to the State House.

Some of you have been part of this unlikely journey since the very beginning. When we first launched this campaign back in 2016, I was a long shot candidate. We set out to prove that homegrown youthful leadership, rooted in community, could deliver real change. Together, we’ve done just that. We’ve taken on the housing crisis, secured hundreds of millions of dollars for wastewater infrastructure, transformed how our state approaches mental health care, stood strong for reproductive freedom and LGBTQ+ equality, and so much more. I’m deeply grateful to each of you who has been part of our cause every step of the way.

I’ll admit, it’s a little awkward to take a pause from my birthday to ask for campaign support. I’d much rather be sharing brunch with my family, walking the snowy beach, or reveling with friends at a dance party. (Don't worry, I'm doing all of that). But we’re entering a critical election year—and my sixth campaign for this seat.

We’re also facing a national tide of division, disinformation, and extremism, and some of it has begun to reach our corner of the Commonwealth. In a district like ours, every conversation, every door knock, and every contribution truly matters.

So today, I’m asking if you would consider making a contribution to help continue our important work and support my re-election. Whether it’s $40 in honor of my 40th birthday, $10 for each year I’ve had the privilege to serve, or whatever feels right to you, your support makes our campaign possible.

As we honor Dr. King this MLK Day, I’m grateful to be doing this work alongside you and I’m proud of the progress we’ve made together. Thank you for believing in me—and for being part of this journey.

With gratitude,
Julian
