His call for justice echoes powerfully now, as we face a sustained assault on the very rights he marched for right here in Georgia. The Trump administration, aided by allies like Burt Jones, is systematically working to undermine our voting rights and silence Georgians’ voices. They are creating barriers, spreading distrust, and turning the sacred right to vote into a political battleground. This is an affront to the dream Dr. King preached: a nation where every person has an equal voice and an equal say in our democracy. Georgia is on the frontlines of this struggle. We are the state where change is possible, where the legacy of the civil rights movement meets the urgency of today. But standing on the frontlines means nothing if we don’t stand together. Dr. King taught us that justice requires unity, courage, and relentless determination. It requires every single one of us locking arms and moving forward as one.
