Today I’m thinking about the power of movements rooted in faith and love.
Dr. King’s words and actions were driven by love, faith, and a deep commitment to justice — along with a persistent challenge to those who remain empathetic in the face of the suffering of their neighbors.
Today’s celebration of Dr. King’s life and legacy reminds us all to carry these values with us. In this moment, we need this reminder more than ever.
We’re facing strong forces of division, chaos, and hate in our own communities. But we have faced forces like these before – both as Minnesotans and as Americans.
His legacy of nonviolent resistance shows us the path through this moment. I’m reflecting on that legacy today. Now is the time to honor his dream through courage, compassion, and action.
Thanks for standing with me,
Peggy
