John,
Every year, when we celebrate Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s life and legacy, we reflect on the power of our voices and what we choose to do with them.
Dr. King spoke truth to power and named injustice plainly. Every speech, every moment of truth was meant to push people toward action — toward showing up, organizing together, and demanding change.
In the year ahead, we will have no shortage of conversations. We’ll talk about what’s broken, what needs to change, and what kind of country and communities we want to live in. Those conversations are important, but they are not the finish line.
Action is. And this year, action matters more than ever.
Midterm elections are coming — and this year, voters will decide 35 U.S. Senate seats, all 435 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives, 36 gubernatorial races, 31 lieutenant governor races, 30 attorney general seats, 26 secretary of state races, and so much more.
Using your voice matters. Talking with your community matters. Educating each other about what’s happening — and what’s coming — matters. And voting is how we decide what happens next.
