Dear MoveOn member,
If you're scared right now about what's happening in our country, you're not alone. If you're furious, you should be.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, "The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice."
Right now, that arc isn't bending on its own. In Minneapolis, organizers are grabbing hold of it and pulling with everything they've got—and they need our help.
Since ICE killed Renee Nicole Good, organizations across Minneapolis have mobilized to defend their community. They're running Know Your Rights trainings, coordinating with schools to keep ICE out, building mutual aid networks, organizing protests and vigils, and showing ICE agents they're not welcome.
One of the organizations leading this fight is TakeAction Minnesota—the state's largest progressive grassroots organization. And on this Martin Luther King Jr. Day, they need our help.
Will you donate $9 to TakeAction Minnesota to support their work protecting the community and organizing to get ICE out of Minneapolis? 100% of your donation goes directly to their work on the ground.
Trump is now threatening to invoke the Insurrection Act and send the U.S. military to Minneapolis to crush peaceful protests.1 Thousands of armed, masked ICE agents are already patrolling the streets. Families are afraid to send their kids to school. Parents are terrified to go to work.
And TakeAction is organizing through all of it—training parents and neighbors to keep ICE off school property, helping individuals and entire neighborhoods push for an eviction moratorium to protect families during this occupation, and bringing together dozens of organizations in unified resistance.
This is the organizing that stops ICE. Not just in Minnesota—everywhere.
Because if Trump can flood Minnesota with his armed thugs and get away with it, any community could be next. But if Minnesotans force ICE to leave, it shows the entire country that resistance works.
That's why we're asking MoveOn members, in this critical moment, to donate $9 to TakeAction Minnesota right now. Every dollar makes a difference. And every dollar goes directly to TakeAction Minnesota.
This is what MoveOn members do. When a crisis hits, we show up for the organizers doing the hardest work.
When police murdered George Floyd—less than one mile from where ICE killed Renee Good—MoveOn members raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to bail out protesters.
When disasters struck, from Hurricane Katrina to the Los Angeles wildfires, MoveOn members opened their homes and their wallets to help.
It’s time for us to show up again.
TakeAction Minnesota is organizing around the clock. They're training volunteers, coordinating legal observers, supporting immigrant families, and building the movement that will drive ICE out of Minneapolis for good.
And here's what makes TakeAction so effective: They've been building power for years. The hundreds of Minneapolis parents they organized through their Families for Public Schools campaign are now leading resistance efforts around sanctuary schools. Twin Cities performers they organized around fair contracts are now pushing for housing protections during this ICE occupation.
That's how you win—not just reacting to each crisis but organizing people around what matters to them and channeling that power when it's needed most.
But organizing at this scale takes resources—and they need them now.
Will you make a $9 donation to TakeAction Minnesota today? Remember: 100% of your donation goes directly to their work.
The arc bends because organizers grab hold of it and pull. It bends because people like you support them when the work is hardest and the stakes are highest.
Right now, TakeAction is pulling. And they need our help.
Thanks for all you do.
