Dear John,

During the height of the pandemic, Trump signed an Executive Order that would
put the environment and coastal communities at risk.

This order included a series of mandates -- including creating a seafood task
force -- designed to speed up permits for industrial ocean fish farms. It also
slashed critical fishery regulations that protect wild fish and their habitats.

This move only benefits large corporations and their profits, not coastal
communities and local fisherfolk. John, we need your
help to stop it. Will you push the National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Administration (NOAA) to change the mandate of the task force to protect our
oceans instead of Big Polluters?

Demand NOAA fix the Seafood Task Force -- protect our oceans from reckless cuts
to fishing regulations!

Take Action
[[link removed]]Industrial ocean farms pack thousands of fish into floating net pens and cages.
These fish farms produce water discharge full of chemicals and heavy metals,
agricultural drugs and pesticides, untreated fish waste, and excess feed. These
“floating factory farms” expose native fish to pests and disease and force them
to compete for food and mates in the event of routine massive farmed fish
spills.

The Seafood Task Force would lead to even more bad news for our oceans and
communities, given the Trump Administration’s pattern of putting polluters
before people and the planet. Moreover, the appointed head of this new task
force, former Maine Governor Paul LePage, has an established history of racist
and controversial remarks and policies.

We cannot allow our leaders to keep deregulating the aquaculture industry to
benefit corporations. And we cannot allow NOAA to put a crucial task force in
the hands of a racist, anti-environment, anti-people official.

The Seafood Task Force must put our oceans and coastal communities ahead of
corporate profits. Tell NOAA that it must do better!

Take Action
[[link removed]]Big Seafood has huge profits at stake with this new task force. It wants to grow
as much seafood as possible on every available acre of ocean that it can get its
hands on. And it’s been lobbying hard for years to slash every possible
regulation.

We need to tell NOAA that our oceans, marine life, and coastal communities are
more important than corporate profits.

It’s up to you to show public officials that someone is watching. Will you stand
up for our oceans and marine life before it’s too late?

Use Your Voice: Tell NOAA that the Seafood Task Force must be changed from the
top down!

Take Action
